Jul 15, 2024Tall skinny tire club. So I've landed the '12 JKU. My plans need to be kept very modest for quite some time, unlike the '09 which is now gone. Part of that plan is a BB or 2.5 coil setup, and some slightly bigger meats (my new Heep currently has the awesome steel wheel / factory 29s setup). The other big reason for considering skinny tires for me, was hoping to have a larger diameter tire with less unsprung weight, but both of the above tires weigh 3-4 pounds more than the 285/70/17 KO2s I ended up buying. So I ultimately chose 285/70/17 C-load KO2s because:2004 TW200, 2500 miles and quickly counting. If you want skinny tires, just buy an XT225 - More horsepower & an extra gear makes it superior to the TW.
