Fuel and oil rated lines are usually reinforced casing. Give a transmission hose a slice with a razor blade. It does take some force to get those hose to give up. I guess heat may play it's role too in regards to softening the rubber.Clean all the oil off the area, the wiring connector and wire as well and put a little silicone dielectric grease on the spade connector before you plug the wire cap back on the new sensor.
