Aug 30, 2005 · I have an Auto-5 that is a Belgium gun that was supposed to have been manufactured in 1946, and would like to verify if this is indeed true or not. The Browning website says that FN did not take over manufacturing the Auto-5 until the 50's, but the serial number on this gun matches the range shown for 1946, and the gun is difinetly a Belgium ...Unless of course it's an "American Browning" made by Remington during WWII when the Nazi's occupied Belgium and production ceased in Europe. Little nuances like that add value to a gun.
