Look at the left side of the barrel right where it hits the receiver, below and to the right of where it says ".22 short, long and long rifle". There should be a stamped set of letters. Mine says DSS, which corresponds to 09/1947. Mine has a S/N just under 100K..

The serial number on this Remington is very close to the S/n on your gun. Yours is 121014----mine is 107274. 'D' inspector's initial on a 63 NMA on the trigger guard and on the bottom of the grips.
