Comcast remote does not work

The XiD-C cable box blue LED light is not on. This cable box was recently added and functions fine except for the blue LED. The Comcast tech brought it with him without the "new" packaging so I am assuming it is used. It is annoying not knowing whether the cable box has power or not without turning on the TV..
