Mar 11, 2019 · I have a 2008 2500HD Silverado when I try to use the cruise control it will intermittently work when it is cold out ( 35 degrees or colder). it seems to work when warmer out. Your brake switch has 3 different switches in it. one for the brake lights, one for the abs, and one to disable the cruise. the one to disable cruise has atendancy to stick in the apply position. Its a common thing with the chevys. Also if your got and abs codes your cruise wont work.With the key on look for one to be hot. If not look for problem towards fuse / conv center. If you got one hot, hit on the cruise and there should be a second hot. If not = bad switch. If now 2 hots there, check brake pedal switch for hot from there. Iirc, there are two switches in the switch and if the cc detects an open in the system, it disables the cc. If it's not jumpering it, unplug it.
