Funny story: About 5 months ago, I had to replace my o2 sensors. No big deal, except that I forgot to reattach the sensor bracket to the transmission. Well, I hit a bump driving about 2 weeks ago, the o2 sensor wires touched the exhaust, shorted to ground, and blew the fuse that also coincidentally controls the transmission..

How No problem! Happy to help. Yes, there are a handful of variations to the servos, to the diameter specifically. There isn't much rhyme or reason that I know of to the variation, just that generally the older variations of the 5r55e's use smaller servos. The only way to really know is to get under the truck and look at the transmission.I have a 99 4.0 ranger with the 5r55e. The truck only has 108k miles on it. On the way home from buying it the od light started flashing so sure enough it was the p0741 code so I did a new filter and new tcc solenoid with around 4-4 1/2 quarts of fresh fluid. It seemed to have fixed it but on my first long drive the problem is back.
