Velocities and pressures are close to factory as is recoil - 40 grains of IMR3031 will kick a lot harder for little velocity gain. I used to run H322 in some 'bear loads' I was all worked up over, but the reality is that H322 never turned in much as far as consistent performance, and consistency is the strong suit of A5744.For the 45Colt, depends on how hot you want to load them...the powders in the medium-slow area may be worth a try. Herco, N350, N344, or N347 (those Vihtavauri powders may not be easy to find). AA 5744 works for the Colt and 45-70. It won't make big loads in the rifle case but it does all I need.By Chuck Hawks.
