I wouldn't think that Colt would assign a serial number to any pistol, and especially one they didn't make. Unique serial numbers were not required of manufacturers before the Gun Control Act of 1968. Starting then, Colt , and many manufacturers, added letter prefixes and suffixes in the serial number mix to accomplish uniqueness.
