You are risking overheating without it. The engine needs a t-stat to properly regulate coolant cycling between the engine and radiator. I would look for a quality thermostat. Cheap ones often are slow to open or do not fully open until well above the rated temp.I personallyt would drop the Ramjet ECm and use an 0411 PCM, install a 24x reluctor on teh front of teh crank, and run a Coil Near Plug assembly (CNP) like the GEN 3/4 SNC engines such as LS1/LS6 etc, This engine here is a Ramjet 350 with teh GM Lt4 hotcam, CNP ignition, 0411 PCM and it makes 310rwhp. For you guys running a ramjet system, as you may know the ramjet distributor cap has aluminum contact terminals, They wear out fast. So after a lot of research I found a distributor cap and rotor made by msd that fits the ramjet distributor.
