Spring53 New Member. I just recently found a 1996 P dime in change. It has what appears to look like a large drip running down the face of Roosevelt. It has a small break and then another piece of "the drip". On the reverse is what appears to be possible clip marks on the "U" and a small gouge in the first leg of the "N" in "UNITED.".

Modern clad coinage is made from a layer of copper sandwiched between layers of a 75% copper 25% nickel alloy. High heat can cause areas of these layers to separate and a bubble may form.
