I am trying to define a two-dimensional surface mesh from given boundary points using the pygmsh package. Ultimately I want to solve the Helmholtz equation (eigenvalue problem) on this mesh using the finite element method from skfem. I got the program for the mesh generation to work for flat shapes e.g., a circle..

pygmsh combines the power of Gmsh with the versatility of Python. It provides useful abstractions from Gmsh's own Python interface so you can create complex geometries more easily. To use, install Gmsh itself and pygmsh from pypi: [sudo] apt install python3-gmsh. pip install pygmsh. For example, I have something like: import pygmsh import meshio -snip- def generate_box(geom, h1, h2, w): lcar = 0.001 poly = geom.add_polygon( … Hi all, Is there a tutorial on how to use pygmsh with FEniCS?https://github.com/nschloe/pygmsh/blob/ee66103e915e6b58b2949ef7e3fd37c7bbb4b134/pygmsh/common/geometry.py#L182 Is it possible to skip this line when using the ...About PyMesh. PyMesh is a code base developed by Qingnan Zhou for his PhD research at New York University. It is a rapid prototyping platform focused on geometry processing. So far so good. Now, I want to create my personal 3D capacitor (a 3D sphere in front of a plane) with the help of pygmsh and got stuck in the description of the boundary conditions. In this short example, we demonstrate how to accomplish this for a two-dimensional mesh consisting of a region with regularly spaced quadrilaterals and a region with unstructured triangles. We start by importing numpy, matplotlib and pygimli with its required components. We continue by building a regular grid and assign the marker 2 to all cells.MeshPy offers quality triangular and tetrahedral mesh generation for Python. This class provides a Python interface for the Gmsh scripting language. It aims at working around some of Gmsh's inconveniences (e.g., having to manually assign an ID for every entity created) and providing access to Python's features. In Gmsh, the user must manually provide a unique ID for every point, curve ...For both input and output, you can optionally specify the exact file_format (in case you would like to enforce ASCII over binary VTK, for example). Time series. The XDMF format supports time series with a shared mesh. You can write times series data using meshio with. with meshio. xdmf.As you are using OpenCascade, and not the built in geometry in gmsh, the functionality of pygmsh is slightly reduced. What you need to add in add_raw_code is the raw gmsh code describing the tags. The advantage of this approach would be that you can manipulate the geometry in pygmsh. The disadvantage: You'll have to translate the geometry given in the stp (or geo) file into Python (pygmsh) first.
