Sure nothing is foolproof but a kill switch and other preventive ideas stop the spur of the moment thieves.I have these on both of my Hawk's. I have the quick disconnect harness connected directly to the battery and the connector run down the engine compartment zip tied right below the front bumper. Simple to just unplug/plug in when I take the cars out. If your 2006 truck has the SKIM/RFID (chip key) option, you don't really need a kill switch. The RFID key vehicles are more secure than the current keyless/pushbutton start vehicles. If you have a manual trans, I would interrupt the clutch pedal switch with your kill switch.
