Associating a Linux user for each steam user is way overkill and would cause problems with desktop mode (since now you need to fully logoff to switch accounts) and family sharing (since one Linux account would not have access to the other home directory).I posted previously (link at the bottom) where I mentioned how family sharing doesn't seem to work that well on the deck.
